This week in our Minecraft Mod Club, we are continuing our 'Redstone Contraption' series - a collection of mods where we make fun and unique machines powered by redstone! This week's contraption is week a Redstone Rubbish Chest.
In this mod, we are using redstone to create a chest that trashes anything in it. All you need to do is place the unwanted item in the chest and it disappears- saving us a ton of storage and bag space!
This mod is coded using two functions - one which generates the redstone dust and redstone comparators which will power the chest, then another function which places a chest above a dropper, a hopper and a block of lava. How the mod works is once something is placed in the chest it goes through the hopper and dropper, before landing in the lava - destroying the item. All of this is powered by redstone dust - very cool!
You can use this mod anywhere; whether you need to ditch snow, sand or gravel out of your bag, get rid of old tools, or just say goodbye to resources you no longer need. Perfect for putting on your base or even to use when exploring the world.
