It’s Neurodiversity Celebration Week this week, with a focus of “Making Organisational Change Happen”! We thought we’d take some time to chat about some of the things we do as an organisation to make the lives of all of our members (especially those neurodiverse amongst them) easier!
Regular training for our STEM-Certified Mentors!
To start with all of our STEM certified mentors get regular training on how best to support our neurodivergent members. We also spend time talking to each other and discussing what works best for our sessions, allowing us to learn and adapt how we run our clubs to make them better for everyone involved!
Proud recipients of the Autism Inclusion Award!
To back up that point we have also received the Autism Inclusion Award from the National Autistic Society, showing our dedication to working to make our sessions better for autistic and neurodiverse children!
Collecting feedback from our community!
One thing we also do is talk to our members and collect feedback on what makes things better and easier for them. We feel letting our neurodiverse members lead us in what they need provides a much more comfortable environment for them, allowing them to thrive in the situations the club brings to them!
If you think we’d be a good fit for your neurodiverse family member, or any family member that enjoys a kind welcoming coding club, sign up for a free taster session today!
